My husband couldn't believe Pete Townsend was there at all. He said he's deaf! The Who definitely rocked tonight, they were fantastic. A lot of the firemen and cops were really into their music, lol. And at the end, during the final song, Townsend was really getting into it.
I also wonder why U2 were not there? They were my favorite band when I was a kid and I would loved to have seen them there as well. I'm also a big Bowie fan and he more than made up for their absence for me. :-) Even the Operaman was cool, lol.

He's been pretty much deaf for a long time, long before The Who broke up....one of the shows they did, a pyro charge was overloaded and pretty much destroyed his hearing. I actually happened on the Smothers Brothers TV show, when Keith Moon's drums blew up when Pete was too close to them... Then Tommy Smothers came out and smashed his guitar!

Actually, the "kiss my Irish ass" statement was the high point of the broadcast... that man just earned his place in the history books!

Actually, the "kiss my Irish ass" statement was the high point of the broadcast... that man just earned his place in the history books! We believe that man is the brother of BCM, the Freeper NYFD we lost in WTC.

Just for the record....
As hubby and I were watching the "big finale", we were astonished at how unwilling the big names were to join in the chorus of Let It Be. We both knew immediately that they didn't want to be seen on the morning newscasts looking like a bunch of un-Patriotic jerks. I actually got out of bed (have to be up in less than 4 hours) and broke open a bottle of our favorite alcoholic beverage in celebration.
Our toast: "To the Death of Liberalism!" - whose funeral we may very well have witnessed tonight!!
Anybody else notice how all the big names were handing off the mikes and disappearing from the ever-important face-time?
Anybody else notice how there wasn't a single mention of the men and women of the military who are, at this very moment, risking their lives to protect and defend the very "Freedom" Paul was talking about?

Boos right after the Stones...hope you hear them in their full roar.

This week they busted Snoop Doggs tour bus a few miles away from me for speeding and then unleashed the weed sniffing doggs finding over a thousand dollars worth of maryjane. A few people including Snoop were charged. They were on there way to Detroit for a concert on Snoops "Puff Puff Pass Tour".

You better inform all those liberal musicians before you get too excited however...

Anyone know if the concert will be rebroadcast? Anyone selling copies of the tape?
To: DKNY
Looking at it the second time, it is honestly as bad as we thought it was?
To: MarkL
The Who have been touring this past summer. They did Quadrophenia again.
I thought they were terrible. Daultry is shot vocally and looks like he's into the bottle. Townsend playing Fender Custom Shop equipment instead of LesPaul's and Hiwatt Amp's is a BIG difference. I have seen them through out and I thought they Blew tonight. But not as much as Mick's Miss you. AHAHAHAHAH
The Goo Goo Doll's were the best band of the night hands down.
