BTW, this was a tactic realized for 400 years that apparently was not understood in Kosovo - as a result, while we pounded infrastructure pretty well, we were apparently almost totally ineffectual against the Serbian military.

My "attacks" are not directed at Americans, just the Marine Corps...I hope you get to enjoy retirement ... as for blood dancing on the graves ... how? The Marines need start seriously addressing their shortcomings, otherwise more AMERICANS will die. The Army has done MANY things poorly BUT the difference is that the Army is at least willing to admit to it's faults and shortcoming and take corrective action, the Marines will do anything do protect the image of the Corps. When you enlisted in 1975 did you know that the Marines at Koh Tang Island LEFT 3 Marines BEHIND to die a horrible death. Then how about the Corps making it secret for 20+ years "to protect the image of the Corps" . It looks to me that the Marines "Semper Fi" is only one way. When is truth and honor going to come to the "Corps"?

Thanks! Very informative.

Artillery attacks are devastating and very cost effective against concentrated troops. Ground attacks are devastating against scattered troops.

I can hardly wait!

The SEALs were greatly feared as skilled body snatchers by the enemy in Vietnam, and most of this was unrelated to water....

Your naivette, lack of a grasp on history, your belligerence, and your phony bravado makes one wonder if you ever were in the military at all, let alone a company commander in an elite unit. You sound like every drunken windbag wannabee I've ever had the misfortune of "witnessing."

You also forget to mention the tragic spectacle of Rangers being dragged through the streets in Somalia due to no FUs of their own but that of the candy-assed politicians and Army "brass" over them.

Every branch of the military has had their share of defeat as well as long traditions selfless bravery and valor and have suffered slaughters due to the ineptitude of those who command or support them.

To spit on the memory of SEALS, Marines, and others who have given their all while carrying out their orders is reprehensible, irresponsible, un-American, and unpatriotic. To paraphrase, I have known warriors, served with warriors, and many warriors are friencds of mine. And you, sir, do not speak the words of a warrior.

You certainly have picked the wrong forum and time in our Nation's history to show your true colors and cause one to wonder why you left your Halls of Personal Glory after only ten years.

And don't ask me what I did to a serve my country. I'm not given to bragging about it and, frankly, you don't deserve to know........
