Are you aware of the BSD core at the heart of OS X? You can pop a terminal shell and everything. Even has man pages. It's really quite cool.

Knew they had the BSD kernel in there, knew the plan was to let "advanced" users interact with the BSD, but didn't know that it made it to "prime time".
