This article is a case of drawing parallels where there are none provable.  The author could have as easily said that MS was copying Real Networks applications with the revamped Media Player.

...and copying Thumbs Plus with MS My Picture.

...and copying Adobe After Affects with Windows Movie Maker.

Just because a Apple OS and a MS OS have similar features doesn't always mean that one copied the other.

In the last line the author exposes his bias and in the rest the article he exposes his ignorance.

You got it. Apple's claims to innovation have always been grossly exaggerated. In the early 1980s they used Xerox's development of a graphical interface with point-and-click for the Macintosh, and then sued Microsoft for doing the same thing.
