I like having my construction projects completed and my lawn mowed.

Sorry mercy, you can't have your cake and eat it too!

An illegal immigrant is an illegal immigrant. It doesn't matter from which foreign country they came. You want to have work done without doing it yourself, hire a contractor or someone who is in the country legally on a regular basis.

Now the fact that doing so might cost you something monetarily should be beside the point. Hiring illegal workers at a lower wage scale without having to pay social security taxes or a contract price below the norm is what is PC.

I thought you were arguing against that.

Hey I said we needed 'a guest worker program'. By this I mean a legal construct allowing for QUALIFIED workers to come in under strong supervisions and requirements. I guess I didn't make myself clear. I always hire licensed and insured contractors. I don't want my life sued out from under me. Most contractors here in the SW hire a lot of guest workers. Some legal some not. That's HIS job to insure their legal status and I make that clear from the get go.
