Yes, I had to find a personal physician in Vermont and have signed up with an MD whom I consider to be first-rate. As part of the initial health evaluation, I went through a long list of health problems and health risks. Among them, as one might expect, I was asked if I smoked, and how much; and whether I drank alcohol, and how much. In a chat afterward, the doctor agree with me that one glass of wine or beer a day actually makes you healthier. In other words, he's a sensible man.

Among the questions asked was whether I had any firearms in the home. This was among the health risks.

Now, I don't believe for a minute that my doctor dreamed this one up. The AMA has obviously been subverted by the anti-gun lobby, and it is advising its members to add guns in the home as a health risk. The ordinary doctor will probably just do this, without thinking much about the matter one way or the other. Just as he might consider loose asbestos in your house to be a health risk.

I don't know what's to be done about this sort of thing, except maybe for all of us to say something to our doctors. It's perfectly clear that many professional organizations have been taken over by the left-wing manipulators, including the ABA and the AMA. Presumably only their members have the power to clean house, and we all know how hard that is when professional agitators take over an organization.

It's no coincidence that the new president of the AMA gave an inaugural lecture that was a diabtribe against guns in the house as a health risk.
