Scott Ritter on Fox and Friends doesn't believe the anthrax is from Iraq but from "McVeigh" type "right wing" groups here in the USA.
The question of 'weapons grade' has to do with the quality of its refinement.
The Soviets typically created liquid anthrax; easier to store and deal with.
The more deadly anthrax is dried which involves sophisticated dessicators and centrifuges; the Iraqis are known (by our friend Scott Ritter) to possess this quality of machinery.
I defy him to show any civilian group in the US is capable of such manufacture.
I also defy him to show any proof or even believable speculation that any domestic group is willing or capable of doing this.
It's irresponsible - at the least- of him to be mouthing such tripe.
Ditto.
Er, we've got lots of folks right here at FR who do the same.
If you really want to understand the far-right angle, read the book Tabernacle of Hate: Why They Bombed Oklahoma City.
You may also want to check out Evidence: White Racists Aided Timothy McVeigh
It doesn't hurt to consider this possibility and prepare a response to the left's certain attempt to demonize us all -- if this should be the case-- as they did after the OKC bombing.
We should all agree that whoever sent these anthrax letters deserves the death gurney (if they are all related to the murder in Florida) or a very, very long prison sentence if it a group seperate from the American Media mailings is found to be involved.
And yes it is possible -- as Ritter said -- that Iraq is solely behind these mailings and no American is involved.
FWIW curiousity got me to do a google search on these keywords. It has been going on for years (funny, never heard about it in the lamestream media...)
of course it was all negative. What they are doing is trying to connect the dots [where there are none] for the sheeple who will not look any deeper into an issue then the 1/2" thickness of their TV screen.
I've thought about this...let me clarify I do not think they are mailing the "real thing" to themselves - or to others; however, I wouldn't put it past them mailing some false threats to left-wing agencies (abortion mills and the like) to revv up the drum beat against the "far" right.
As someone born & raised in Wisconsin?
Yea, I remember the guy, alright. {g}
I seriously don't think Vince & the other great men of the time like say, Tom Landry, would've prospered very well in these weird, convoluted times we're living today.
Be that as it may...
How about I repeat a *bit* of the best horse-sense this poster's read in over a month:
"Puh-leese no professors...not the professors...don't want no professors...we got enough 'experts' with phoney baloney explanations."
A sage expression of common sense such as that cannot possibly be emphasized enough to suit me.
of course they do!!! duh ... so what's the newsflash???? =)
Er, I thought the Jews controlled everything.
It must be mighty convenient to have a ready-made, pre-packaged ideology at hand - just cross out "Jew" and substitute "Muslim" and away we go!
What the hell are you talking about? By your logic: It's amazing that any bad thing that happened before 9/11 did happen. (Like how did Sadam know to invade Q8 before 9/11).
Are you off your medication again?
If an unassociated group of right wing crazies started sending out Anthrax on September 9th, then it would just be a big old coincidence. The fact that the terrorists' apartment in Florida is contaminated and they were all looking at crop-dusters just means the Muslim crazies were thinking along the same lines at the same time.
If you believe that, I got a bridge to sell you. (At greatly reduced prices since there is a big ol' crater on one end BTW)
