14 Syrians Arrive for U.S. Flight School

Here's one for Ripley's Believe It or Not:
Fourteen men from Syria - a state sponsor of terrorism - entered the United States this week on student visas to attend a flight school in Fort Worth, Texas, an Immigration and Naturalization Service official admitted today.

The men were "checked out" by the State Department before they obtained the M-1 visas for vocational education, and none of them was on "a watch list," said Tomas Zuniga, an INS spokesman in Dallas. "Everything was on the up and up."

A State Department official said there was no prohibition against issuing visas to flight-school students from the Middle East as long as they meet all visa requirements, United Press International reported today.

The FBI was notified about the Syrians because the men arrived in two groups, which concerned INS officials at the Dallas airport.

"Seven came on Sunday, and seven came in on Monday, so we thought it was a little suspicious, and we notified the FBI and they are aware of these 14," he said. "They did not show up on anybody's want list, so they were appropriately admitted."

To quote a certain peacenik folk song: "When will they ever learn?"

This is freekin insane! We should stop all new Muslim immigrants or students and revoke all Mideast student visas and deport until the current war is settled. Better safe than sorry.

I posed this scenario the week of the attack and was advised that to prohibit Middle Eastern people from this training would be "unconstitutional".

Now I ask anybody to explain to me how the U.S. Constitution protects foreigners seeking to enter this country for anything?

Bush speaks with forked tongue.

"Straighten up and fly right" is not yet the order of the day.

I read about this yesterday and STILL can't believe the utter ignorance of allowing them into the US.

IF Bush is aware of this event, then one would have to wonder if, along with a forked tongue, he also has a forked brain. No one in their right mind should even CONSIDER allowing such things to happen. Not much different than saying...here's the noose, when do you want the hanging?

They can be refused visas for ANY reason.

Foreigners do not, in fact, enjoy full Constitutional protection.

Though they are permitted the protection of due process, none has a right to a visa or any form of a grant of entry.

None.

Also, the default is not that a failure to observe due process, by U.S. government agents, results in "automatic" entry. Rather, the default is, that if entry is denied and the applicant desires to pursue the matter in court, the applicant still does not gain entrance --- and instead, they are represented in absentia; though a legislating - judge may decide to order an entrance, that judge would be extra–Constitutional, the order, invalid.

Are we sure this story is even TRUE?? There was a newsreport this weekend that was carried by the top stations, saying that 35 Middle-Eastern men trained at a truck-driving school outside of Denver. The report proved to be false after the media out the scare into our heads. Very little was said about correcting the media's mistakes.

The original of this story was on worldnetdaily.com, on Tuesday. I forwarded it by email to several hundred journalists, many senators and congressmen, all the ones whose email address I could find, and national security agencies. The INS have never been rocket scientists but this one takes the cake. See the original story on worldnetdaily for interesting info, eg the flight school they are supposed to attend in Texas is run by middle easterners and teaches primarily in Arabic.

Waste of time. These Clymers write the laws and unless there is something in it for them could care less about common sense. Show them the money and they may do something.

This is a job for the Homeland Defense. We'll soon learn whether it has teeth or just another bureaucratic branch of the government more concerned with PC than getting the job done.

Is Syria considered by our government as a coalition member or a terrorist sponsoring state? If they are not part of the solution then they are the problem.

Hey, the buck stops at W's desk.

His email address is President@WhiteHouse.gov

If he is serious about going after terrorists and those who shelter them, he needs to do some "rearranging" here at home.

Let him know what you think!
