you recommended someone else to look at her scroll. I might suggest the same to you. The name of the statue was "liberty enlightening the World." It dealt with the 100 year anniversary of America's independence. It had nothing to do with immigration, when erected. The poem that you are probably thinking of was added LATER!!!!! It is NOT on the Statue's scroll.

I repeat, the statue of liberty deals with liberty, not immigration. Otherwise it would be called the statue of immigration.
