I realize that but, if it was Atta who made the letters, wouldn't it be more effective to send them off a week *before* the hijackings rather than a week after when people would be more alert to possible terrorism?
Of course there are more than just those 19. It's not MY bubble you're bursting. It's yours - that Atta was the culprit.
If you want to suggest that Atta mixed all this up and set up the letters before leaving for Massachusetts then it means some accomplice had it sitting in their house for at least ten days before deciding to mail it. Maybe it was one of those who didn't know they were being sacrificed like some of the hijackers reportedly didn't "need to know".
Which then leads back to my original point - why aren't we looking at New Jersey hospitals?

I agree, checking NJ hospitals is necessary. I think that the intent of Atta & the hijackers was to crash a plane into the White house and Capitol. Why waste the anthrax ahead of time if you are going to target them by slamming planes into congressional offices ? I think that the plan was that the operatives were to wait to see whether Atta carried out the missions as successful. Any pols that survived the attack were to be targeted with anthrax in an attempt to fully collapse the US govt.

Im starting to agree, someone kept somewhere before dissemination.Check not just NJ hospitals, byt Florida and New York ones as well
