What I'm curious about in the "private" run on Cipro is what the big health insurers are doing (prescription plan cards and the like). I haven't heard a peep about it, but those companies have got to be taking it in the shorts from all the people, nowhere near a confirmed anthraxing, pestering their doctors for it. The brand name stuff is like $600 for enough to prevent coming down with anthrax after an exposure.

BTW, I didn't save the link, but I read an AP story yesterday on their site in which Russia said they are fully stocked with vaccines, antibiotics, etc. and would make these available to us if we were attacked. While I might not feel comfortable about taking their meds (esp. vaccines), it's nice to know that there is an existing supply if we get into trouble. It's always comforting to have a "Plan B".
