Quoting from their webpage: Marine Corps Gazette
"At 0945 on 11 September a highjacked Boeing 757American Airlines Flight 77 bound originally for Los Angeles out of Dulles International Airport with 64 people and approximately 30,000 punds of fuelcrashed into the Pentagon's west facade.
This month's cover graphically demonstrates just a portion of the damage, along with a Marine Corps flag, still prominently standing in what was the office of Peter Murphy, Counsel to the Commandant."
I am not clear about whether or not Mr. Murphy survived the attack. I think he did. Anyone?
Hope this sheds some light on the subject.
Best Regards,
