Heck, with the rate of fire it could probably blow up a missile in mid air. It's awesome how much ammo goes into an area (see your #14 & 15) by a plane flying 300-400MPH.

That's what was 'implied' in the thread I was reading last night. Shoot the missle and automatically target the firing area of the missle launch.

The older model (AC-130H) had two 20mm Gatling guns firing (i think) 1500 rds per minute (each) slowed down from 4000/6000 rds per minute (when used)on fighters. The newer model AC-130U has a 25mm Gatling gun replacing the two 20's. (They both also have a 40mm Bofors and a 105 Howitzer).
