I could be mistaken (it's happened before on occasion), but I don't think he was talking about threads discussing religion generally. I think he was talking about the more divisive religious theory-type threads, which are often quite ugly, especially for those of us who are Catholic or Orthodox.

It is possible that one's view of such threads is dependant on whose ox is being gored. Probably. I don't know that the Catholics and Orthodox on FR get it any worse than anyone else around here, and a number of you (as with any other group) give as good as you get. It's all part of life on FR.
