No problem. Does you family (or did your family) do a big meal on Christmas Eve? That is a tradition a lot of Italians here keep. For some reason they make a lot of dishes with fish. It's like eating pork or black eyed peas or whatever on New Year's for luck. You have to eat seven kinds of fish. Or twelve. Or something. It can vary from family to family.

Fish on Christmas Eve is a French Canadian tradition too. My mom still makes oyster stew and steamed lobster, while my dad cooks meat pies for Christmas Day and beyond.

My mother was an orphan raised by an aunt, so there was not alot of people to gather for christmas. But we did have a big Italian dinner, capeletti, riceotta, and some other things that I can't spell. Afer she died, being the only girl in the family, I have abrother who has 2 boys but he is divorced, I got the job of doing the cooking now. We get together a few weeks before christmas to make the capeletti, (that's ravioli sorta) and I freeze them till christmas. We have that and another thing that my mom made that is not Italian, City Chicken, (which is actually not chicken:). Mack liked that so well that she started making them for him every christmas and it became tradition. So no turkey and dressing here. But it is nice to have a traditon like this that my kids enjoy and I know they will carry it on.

No problem. Does you family (or did your family) do a big meal on Christmas Eve? It looks like we all are going to be spending our first Christmas together (you can come too angelo:) and I have been thinking, when all you guys go out to buy me a gift, don't spend over $500.00 or so. I ride a Ultra Glide Classic Harley and need some more chrome, just to give you all some ideas. Thanks in advance!
