The commandment is against worshipping idols. Since nobody's doing that, it shouldn't be a problem.

I thought your argument was that since Jesus came it was now lawful to make images of Him and His people?? If that is indeed your argument, then that implies that it was not legal prior to His coming. Now you say it was legal before he came. Did you mispeak???

The commandment is against worshipping idols. Since nobody's doing that, it shouldn't be a problem.

Somebody's lied to you and you're repeating the lie:

[20:4](1)Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,(2a) or any likeness {of any thing} that {is} in heaven above,(2b) or that {is} in the earth beneath,(2c) or that {is} in the water under the earth. [20:5](3) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them,(4) nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God {am} a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth {generation} of them that hate me; [20:6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Four distinct commands encompassed here. One of which is set in three parts so there would be no excuses for misunderstanding.
