I wasnt aware that Jesus spoke in Greek to his disciples. Go back and read my post again, I didn't say he did. Now try and find those non-Greek manuscripts and then you'll have a case. Until then, there are 2 different Greek words used by the writer, Matthew - who was inspired by the Holy Spirit. You do believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the NT, don't you?

He was inspired by the Holy Spirit, but he was quoting Christ. If Christ said "foundation stone", the fact that it was translated (in the proper masculine form) into a Greek word that also translates as "pebble" is not really a dividing point. BTW, my Greek Orthodox friend says that Petros is also "rock" and is understood by the Greeks in harmony with Catholics.

You do believe that the Holy Spirit inspired the NT, don't you? Of course, but I find your reading of the same as less than inspired.
