Aside from the fact that you are pulling my leg ;o) I don't know why the fact that a translation was in error would destroy your faith in scripture. You would agree that of the many translations out there, some are in error, and some are in serious error? The Catholics don't lose their faith in the bible simply because modern translations don't agree with the Douay-Rheims about the translation of kecharitomene ("full of grace" vs. "favored one"). Surely your faith is no less than theirs?
