You will be judged on how well you abide by God's will.

Explain how this statement in not working one's way to heaven.

Our faith is made real by our actions. If our actions don't match our words, our words are a lie. The goal of our faith is to allow ourselves to become workers of God.

The work we do is not ours, but rather our participating with Jesus, letting Him work through us.

So if some people from non-catholic religions are going to heaven you believe there is more then one way to heaven. Explain John 14:6 Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life no man cometh unto the Father but by me. Sounds like one way to me.

When I said "non-Catholic" religions I was talking of other Christians. Perhaps I shouldn't have said "religion." But since you brought it up, we believe that God's mercy can extend to those who through no fault of their own are ignorant of Christ. Their salvation may still be acheived because of Christ.

Nobody has an excuse for not knowing Christ.

"[18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [19] Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. [20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. [22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, [23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things." - Ro 1:18-23
