Knowing the books of the bible and their order makes it alot easier to turn to the passages the preacher gives during service, rather then fumbling aroung thumbing pages, or forever turning to the table of contents. It's not just a trivia lesson.

It's not just a trivia lesson. I realize it has its advantages, and I also know trivia isn't the right word. I wasn't thinking of the free lance preacher. I'm used to knowing beforehand what the day's lesson is.

Knowing the books of the bible and their order makes it alot easier to turn to the passages the preacher gives during service My wife and I have a childish sort of competition in that regard. The pastor will give a verse and one of us invariably leans to the other and whispers "beat you".
Of course, when we are at a Catholic service, I can bookmark them weeks ahead of time (I'm not sure she has this figured out yet).
