In what way do Baptists encounter the Presence of the Living God?

Thru faith in Jesus Christ, resulting in a changed life, and that done thru the power of Jesus Christ, not ourselfs, I've had Christ change things in me that only a true God could change, I really tried for years and could not over come some things in my life, untill I gave up (pride and all, and that ain't easy bud) and turned them over to Christ and He made the change. Thats why I love Him, He became real to me when I could not help myself and he did. Hes the best friend I ever had. :)

Thanks, BigMack. I hope you don't mind another question or two! If I can make my earlier question a little more specific... When you pray, to whom do you direct your prayer? Do you just 'talk with God'? And when you do so, do you simply have faith that He hears you, or do you (on occasion) experience God's Presence?

Jesus Christ.

Do you just 'talk with God'?

I talk to Him just like I talk to you, I can't see Him but Hes there, just like I can't see you, and He talks back to me thru His word, just like I do thru reading your words to me.

And when you do so, do you simply have faith that He hears you, or do you (on occasion) experience God's Presence?

I have a faith that is based on facts not a blind faith, I know He hears me, because of the way He has made Himself real to me as I told you in my last post. There have been times that I have felt He was right there with me, thru a sermon I have just heard, it was Him speaking thru the preacher and not just the preacher giving the sermon, and other times when praying.

I remember one time, we were dirt poor and heated our home with wood only, and it had been snowing and I was dead broke and my chainsaw was broke and we were out of wood and cold. I called everyone I knew at the time to borrow money for wood, they were in the same shape as we were, they would of come to help but it was bad and very hard to get around. I was at my end, no were to turn, then I prayed to Christ for help. As soon as I had finished asking Him for help, a thought came to mind, just below us there is land the city had bought to put in a lake, and the year before they had let people in to cut wood, something was urging me to go down there, so I went and there were left over pieces of wood laying on the ground, we picked them up and loaded em in the truck and when we were done we had a truck load of wood, about a rick and half, I felt his presence there loading the wood with us that day. Like I said when all others fail or cannot help you He will. Best friend I ever had.
