No. The point is a gift, not an office.

I agree. The point is the gift. Which according to Paul was "in you through the laying on of my hands. The gift is not the office. The gift is the grace to perform the duties of the office.

Ok. So then we both agree its a gift. The verse doesn't mean the laying on of hands imparts an office. And since we were talking about the apostolic succession of offices, the verse doesn't have anything to do with it.
