Now there's a topic that I don't recall being covered here yet. The Vatican has never taken an official stance on the shroud. Quickie quiz: does that mean that the catholics can discuss it freely or not at all?

It's my guess that they will discuss it, but will choose their words EXTRA carefully just in case the Vatican does eventually come out with something definitive, so that they won't get caught too far outside the camp.

The term "plausible deniability" comes to mind. ;^)
