The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

Thanks Reggie...I discussed synonoms with this crowd way last summer and got the same argument you are getting. The funny thing though, they start it, then say it doesn't mean anything:) Maybe you will have better luck.

This is; however, not a reason to ignore all definitions of a word except the one you are happy with. But when one is choosing words to describe one's actions, one can indeed select the particular meaning of a term which one is using.
Otherwise, you have nothing but chaos. Then, when one uses a word to communicate an idea, the reader can run to his thesauraus and choose a different meaning than the one intended. This is called "deconstructionism," the belief that words only take on the meaning that the reader assigns, not what the writer intended.
And anyway we use venerate only as an English version of dulia

Yeah, but nobody has died this year, I wonder what the odds of 50 or so folks are for that in a year are?
When I die, I'll not post it here. I'll just stop posting and let everybody think it's just because I'm mad at SD.
IOW, don't be so sure.

Since we know what they infer, those two words, lets be a thesaurus:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be forcefully taken; forcefully moved together with them in the shikinah glory og God to meet the Lord in the presence;gloryand so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Here is where we apply Hebrews 8:10-12 and Hebrews 10:13-18.
I addressed caught up also in this phrase.
Remember, the reason Paul said it was a "mystery" in 1 Cor 15 is because the plain language interpretation of the even WE use is not what he is saying.
If it was simply the literal of what you have been telling me, why is it a mystery? Because we have to piece it together with 2 Cor 5:4 and learn what being "changed" is.
We have to reason why they needed to "watch" or why to them it would "not overtake you as a thief."
Wouldn't it make more sense to the "what now?" question if the "rapture" was God's transformation of man spiritually into everlasting life NOW rather than thinking it was an event for them and "now what?" "Do we resurrect after we die?" When does it happen if He already came?"
Believeing the rapture is as literal and simple as you think, cancels out it's mystery, and forces us into a "what happens to me when I die?" realm.
I believe in Rev 21-22 where we are told there is no death, sorrow, etc because the old has passed away (2 Cor 4-8!!)

Funny how the mind works. I was thinking the day after Mack fell at the bowling ally and we were posting, what if one of you all died. How would we know. Especially in light of what was said this week about most of you all's spouses don't even know about your posting here. That would be really sad if someone just suddenly stopped and we never knew what happened.
My ex-spouse lives 3,000 miles away and, though I'm sure she is still madly in love with me, she doesn't know I'm a freeper. Neither do my children. I'll just fade away, an old soldier... (Douglas McArthur).

Womankind is only reminded of their weakness for being the first to be tempted but the fall is not on her shoulders.Did the serpent specifically target Eve or, was she just a victim of soyk'mstances? {nyuk, nyuk, nyuk}

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said,
I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
1 Timothy 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
I disagree.

Air also refers to our atmosphere where we are living. The air we now breath,
ajhvr from aemi (to breathe unconsciously, i.e. respire; by analogy, to blow) the air, particularly the lower and denser air as distinguished from the higher and rarer air the atmospheric region .
So a better phrase might be:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be forcefully taken; forcefully moved together with them in the shikinah glory of God;presence of God to meet the Lord in this realm; this atmosphere;gloryand so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Actually, the full strongs should sum up my argument perfectly. They met the Lord in THIS density, here, now, in His presence, forever (Rev 21).

And we agree you use "venerate" as a code word for "worship" (but don't tell the NC's).
