Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |
Presumably your taking the sound from a RCA jack (from your cable box or VCR?) and converting it to a Mic in. Radio Shack sells a pair of adapters that convert RCA to 1/4" audio and 1/4" to headphone jack. The other issue is your sound card input - It may allow stereo input (in which case it probably takes two RCA jacks anyway) or you may need to buy a 2-1 RCA adapter so that you get both channels (unless your source is mono anyway).
There are lots of other possibilities (there's a dual RCA to stereo headphone jack converter if your soundcard takes that). What plugs do you have on the back of the sound card? And what is your source?
And do I really need to go to lunch thinking I'm a pompous ass?
Cushing could not have gotten out of the Seminary in those days without being conversant in Latin - no way. He probably graduated in the 1920s.
This I know. When Cardinal Cushing spoke the Mass no person who was fluent in Latin knew what he was saying. They knew what he was supposed to be saying. Big difference.
This I know. You may not have understood Cushing. You cannot speak for others. My father was totally amazed that someone would assert that Cushing didn't speak Latin - and he was around him quite a bit, and was, in fact, confirmed by Cushing. Didn't you use your missal during Mass to follow the Latin?
Your father is right in that Cardinal Cushing spoke like a machine gun. It was difficult to keep up with him when he was speaking in his "native" Bostonese. He is the one who taught the "faithful" how to "speed talk". He could say the whole Mass and have the congregation out, and the parking lot emptied in 1/2 hour. He would then rush to Suffolk Downs.
I didn't say my father said that Cushing spoke like a machine gun - you did. In fact, I have heard Cushing speak via tapes - he had a Boston accent, yes, but drew out his words - my feeling when hearing the tapes was "get on with it!" - BTW, Cushing supported the racetracks because of the money that some of the founders of the tracks donated to projects of Cushing's - like hospitals. And at the time that racing was legalized, it provided much needed relief in our area in the form of jobs. Cushing did say Mass on the raceway of several local tracks, if that is what you mean.
You know we love bingo ;-)
Once again you missed the citing of the hundreds of thousands of Byzantine Christians slaughtered by papist armies in the middle ages.
You do practice selective reading I see.
I understand completely, and EARTH TO ISAIAH_66_2! I already said as much.
YOU, on the other hand take baseless swipes based upon your own ignorance of Catholic teaching. YOU accuse us of holding to a double standard. So either define "chastity" and "intrinsically evil" as you (mis)understand it, or shut up.

He started it, he keeps telling us that Jesus ain't God (wonder were he got that from:)
I did notice that Steven grabbed #30k ... but was it the official 30K?
Yeah, its Official, but under protest.:)
Give me a reference link to the drive-by ... that sounds interesting.
Don't remember, maybe someone else can lead you there.
No more JH? I hope he still checks in, I'm still looking for that Cadillac pick-up that we talked about months ago.
I pinged him a couple of times but no answer.
Let's see if we can loosen up the stiffnecks, shall we?
It time for a picture of exlax :)
Steven: This will loosen us all up.

Please define the "spirit of homosexuality". Feel free to cite scripture in your definition.
Well, two events in 2000 years. That proves that it's systemic. NOT. Please tell me you haven't taken any courses in logic, or I'd demand my money back.

Oh ok. I think I got it then. I've got RCA's to quarter inch. And my sound card is a Dman 24 bit with a breakout box that has 4 quarter inch ins and 4 quarter inch outs.
And do I really need to go to lunch thinking I'm a pompous ass?
You've redeemed yourself quite nicely. I take back every mean thing I've ever said about you. Thank you.
as a matter of fact I think I'll just take my RCA to quarter inch directly into my Macky Mixer since the mixer is already quarter inched into my sound card breakout box.
Tell me something dave---why has it been Rome's policy to simply move pedophiles and other sexual perverts who are clerics from one parish to another?
Why did the priest to Robert Hansen, the spy, tell Hansen to give some of the money the Russians gave him for spying and being a traitor to the USA to a Roman Catholic "charity", instead of telling him to turn himself and the money in?
BTW, Hansen "donated" at least $50,000 of that traitor blood money, by his own account, to theresa's "charity". How many years off of purgatory do you think he got in exchange for that "indulgence"???
By the way I'm having to go thru all these heebie jeebies because I'm taking some guitar instructional videos and importing them into cakewalk so I can slow them down without the pitch changing.
The event is also recorded in Acts 15:1-2 which took place when they were in Antioch (Acts 14:26-27). As a matter of fact it was that episode that precipitated the Jerusalem Council.
I dont believe that the event in Galatians (2:11) precipated the Jerusalem Council , but that is a matter for which Ill leave to the bible scholars. I guess we disagree on timing here. I do think it odd that you hang so much on Paul withstanding Peter to the face, when Paul himself lived like a Jew because he did not want to offend the Jews detailed quite a few times in Acts, after the Council of Jerusalem.
There are plenty of Christians that believe they have to add something to the Salvation that is complete in Christ. If you are involved in keeping the Law in order for you to not lose your Salvation, then you are adding to Christs work. If you believe that it is Christ that initially provides the Salvation, but it is kept, or maintained, by works then you have a works-salvation. It is based on you and not Christ.
I do not believe you have to add something to Christs Sacrifice his Sacrifice is complete and perfect. We are given it through Grace, working through faith. We can lose it through sin and not being repentant of our sins, as outlined in the Bible. I think Adam and Eve are the best example of this they knew God personally and yet, through temptation and then sin, lost their perfect faith in Him. I believe you need to be sorry for your sins - is that adding to Christ's perfect sacrifice on the cross?
What happens if YOU dont keep the Sacraments? What happens if YOU dont attend Mass, what happens if YOU dont go to confession, what happens if YOU dont partake of the Eucharist, what happens if YOU dont get baptized, etc.? If your Salvation is dependent upon YOU performing these actions, then your Salvation is dependent upon YOU. The Salvation that I believe in is dependent upon Christ alone.
Since I belive the sacraments were instituted by Christ himself, I believe they are necessary in the life of a Christian. Through the sacraments we grow in the life of grace, it is also the sacraments that provide us with a means of restoring the life of God's friendship that we may have lost through sin.
Where does Paul say that we must keep the 10 Commandments in order to go to Heaven? I dont think you can find it, because it is not there.
What about The Rich Young Man in Matthew 19:16-30 never mind St. Paul, Jesus spoke about keeping the commandments.
me: That certainly is true except I think following the law is more than beneficial. God gave us a concience and free will for some reason... if we do not exercise it/them according to his will, I believe we can lose salvation.
you: Again, that makes Salvation dependent upon YOU, and YOUR actions. Jesus provided a better Salvation than that.
He provided a perfect salvation. We can either accept it, or not. Why would he give us free will? Free will allows us to either accept Him or not, persevere, or not.
I've hit my head on the ceiling of my knowledge. You might check with the808bass if you have further problems (he's good for more than just Greek).
I'm just getting started. Like I said, over the next couple of weeks there will be much, much more----history is repleat with them--a consistent pattern of evil.
Who many popes would you say were homosexual, non-chaste queers, or were bi-sexual, non-chaste, that is?
How many popes would you say father bastard kids? Of course, unchaste doesn't apply to that one, to fathered bastard kids implies dirrectly that the popes who fathered bastard kids were not chaste, so you may disregard the question of "chastity" in that case.
As I've repeatedly stated, Acts are not necessarily the lifestyle, nor the lifestyle the acts. And it has a spiritual component not dealt with in the RCC statement - rendering it clinical rather than spiritual. This only states that acts are wrong and not approved.. NOT the lifestyle. And it doesn't call it sin. You can wait all you want for an apology, I won't apologize for noting the differences.
That is another cognitive disconnect statement.
So, you are saying that the event that happened on 9-1-1 doesn't speak for itself, huh?
Yes, I understand you love the warts of the papist church---that is the problem---you love the warts, that are evil. God says to hate evil---you say---love it.

I'll stick with what God says, thank you.
