The Neverending Story
An ongoing debate on Scripture, Tradition, History and Interpretation.
Statesmen may plan and speculate for liberty, but it is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue. - John Adams |

angelo, Reggie said Oh S**t.
Forgive me for I "almost" sinned. It wasn't necessary though. No politicians said a word. It was all about the Patriots with no distractions. "Praise the Lord!"

Easy. The wife is my only alledged employee and I don't supervise myself. In other words, you make sure "she" is doing what she is supposed do, all the work, and you set by and FReep, GOOD MAN!..........Hey Becky, Read this! :)

Till right up to today? Meaning he's not beautiful anymore? ;o) ROFLOL!
Of course, you know this undermines your interpretation of Matthew 1;25...

Busted. Better not pray to St. Jerome anymore. :-)

I never thought about defending the existence of God like this. But it worksAh, the Bovinian argument. Anselm's unpublised masterpiece.

Thanks for the analysis on "firstborn." I appreciate the hard work. I'm going to take it to some of my Orthodox mentors for a response.

You know what... I didn't even want to watch. In those days (uuhhh), don't know how it is now, the women had a choice of having a mirror to watch in or not. If things had gone normal (no choice for c-section) I was going to say NO MIRROR. I just wanted it over with.

Here is another one to ponder on:
Job 26:7, ". . . and hangeth the earth upon NOTHING." During the time of Job, it was believed a god named Atlas held the earth on his shoulders! Nobody believed the earth "hangeth upon NOTHING!" Job is the oldest book in the Bible! Written over 3500 years ago! How did Job know something that was IMPOSSIBLE to know during his day?

It is he that sitteth upon the CIRCLE OF THE EARTH." Not to entirely burst your bubble, but wouldn't you think God would know it was a sphere, not a circle?

Nobody believed the earth "hangeth upon NOTHING!" Again, strictly speaking, the earth "hangs" by the force of gravity to the sun and to other heavenly bodies.

So my friend, you're conclusion is a touch too broad. There are orthodox (if you'll pardon the expression) Anglicans all around (though not typically in large numbers). Well then, I'll pray that you can hold out against the apostates! God be with you.
To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain
What happened? I didn't do it.

On another thread he said:
down with all kings:
I think the idea of believing in god in pretty stupid and I would like to know why any intelligent person would do it.
I think someone got hacked and hit the abuse button, they pulled all his posts over there too.
Thin skin I guess.

I looked the word for circle up in the Hebrew, and it means "to describe a circle." That better describes the earth then that it was flat as the people thought back then. Dave you will need to ask God why he didn't use sphere, or better still, why he didn't just let you write His Word.

I think Dave might take you up on this. There are parts of Scripture he isn't too pleased with.
