Thank you for your support, sometimes it's the little things that mean a whole lot. This thread really touched me.

I lived for a year out of a tent in Bosnia and found that a care package from home was just about the best thing a soldier could get while deployed. A few things from the homeland and a message of support was always a great pick-me-up.

Some suggested things to send in a care package include;
An issue of the soldiers local newspaper or USA Today
Flavored chapstick
Hard candy and chocolates
cigarettes and a lighter
pop tarts
Crackers and squirting cheese
Pens,Paper and envelopes
A magazine
A new toothbrush
gum
q-tips
chewing tobacco
black kiwi boot polish
A good luck charm
A deck of cards
and much more. Just keep it limited to small items and remember that they miss even the simplest things that we take for granted each and every day.
