Handgun Sales Up 500%
Fox News | 10/14/01

Posted on 10/14/2001 1:51:50 PM PDT by pabianice

Fox News reporting that, since 11 September, US handgun sales are up an impressive 500%. And that's just the legal ones; black market sales must be through the roof. Rifle sales must be off the scale. That gargling sound you hear is The Brady Bunch stroking-out.

If there is one thing the attack on the US has done is put the gun-grabbers' backs to the wall. Will be fascinating to see what new lies the anti-self defense crowd concoct in the next few years as more terrorist attacks almost certainly occur and more Americans die.

Well, if you have less than three now, you're borderline liberal. Will that do it?

That link might be off. It crashed my browser so I tried www.firearmnews.com to go straight to the home page and the browser jumped to a completely different address. Any chance you typed it wrong?

I almost bought a gun the other day. Who'll give me the slight push to send me over the threshold?

How about the fact that the govt could stop the sale of guns at any time and you would be SOL. (Shut down the instant check system due to "tech problems" and all sales stop). Get'em while you can, and don't skimp on the ammo (500 rounds per handgun and 1000 rounds per rifle minimum). The ammo you buy now may have to last you for the rest of your life. (I know, shutting down ammo and gun sales is as likely to happen as two passenger jets crashing into the WTC).

Aparently not, if she had any sense she'd be practicing her quick draw. That could have prevented her husband from getting shot. Not carrying a gun would have left him totally defenseless. At any rate, he did his job and stopped a bullet meant for Emperor Ronald. He's a hero, and Sara's a slimeball.

The link should work. It requires the Adobe Reader for pdf files. I'm sure there are plenty of other sites out there, but the link I posted originates from www.thegunsearch.com

Click the banner on the top of the page (with the WTC towers), and it should open the pdf file.

THe CZ-52 is a fine old military sidearm for someone on a budget. However, there are so many better guns available for the same money or a little bit more money, in better calibers, that the CZ would be low on my list.

I picked up a new two-tone Sig P245 last month (before the attacks).

Since then, I've ordered a case of ammo and several extra magazines.

The range where I usually shoot at is doing a lot of business. Their rifle selection was very slim when I went on Friday.

I'm trying, Epow, I'm trying....but I'm practically alone out here. As you know, NY Reps are practically indistinguishable from the Dems, and boy does that really frost me.

I know how you feel, AAABest. I'm married to a policeman, and as ridiculous as it sounds, I am not legally allowed to accompany him to the range to learn how to use the weapons that are in my own house. Since I thought that was not only stupid, but dangerous as well, we made a trip to Pennsylvania and borrowed my uncle's handgun to learn and practice on (it happened to be the same as my husband's weapon). I did pretty damned good, too!

I can't wait to get out of here...hubby has only 9 more years till retirement and then we can finally escape this madhouse.

Regards,

Uh, folks, I hate to point this out, but...
It's huntin' season.
Gun sales always go up in huntin' season. Maybe not this much, but let's see what the year-to-year numbers are, not just the month-to-month comparison.

In the 50s, as American was just trailing out of an agricultural economy in the post-war era, about 90 percent of families had a gun of some kind. Yet there were no Columbine-style incidents. What is the reason? Cultural pollution? Divorce rates? Single moms? Ritalin? Hollywood?
