Hey, is a 12 gauge shotgun with a manufactured 18-1/4” barrel and a pistol grip legal now? I bought it years ago. I haven’t fired it in 15 years. I wonder if I need to put the original wood stock and long barrel back on it?
I just bought the identical thing, in New York State no less, so it must be legal. (I hope.) The only thing was I had to take a stupid wooden dowel out of it so it would hold 6 shells instead of 2. (Uh, oh, am I going to get a visit from ATF now?)

I think the wooden dowel has something to do with state hunting laws... for a limit on shots fired at certain animals. I had a cardboard dowel which I lost about 20 years ago.
