Why is Waxman doing this ?
There is a much greater threat, with greater proven utility to terrorists than the .50 cal rifle.
Here's the link:
Ban White Powder NOW!!!!

But Waxman's .90 caliber noseholes are OK?

That's got to be a doctored photo. Waxman's nostrils are enormous, but not not
that extreme.
I was thinking, though, that he could probably hold a .50 caliber round in each notril comfortably--similar to the MacKenzie brothers' courtroom scene in "Strange Brew."

Voting From the Rooftops details the tremendous power of the Barrett M82A1 50 caliber sniper rifleswhich U.S. Marines used in the Gulf War to knock out Iraqi armored vehicles from 1,750 yards away Snort, giggle, guffaw.
To: Hoosier
Does a .50 cal ban also cover Waxman's nostrills?
To: sailor4321
I have no problem with banning the export of these guns, just as long as law-abiding Americans can still purchase them.
To: sailor4321
Of course Commie Waxman could care less about .50 caliber guns being allegedly sold to the Al Qaeda. His real agenda under the guise of national security and as a gun grabber is to outlaw .50 caliber guns, then .45s then .40s then 9mms then .38s then .22s and ultimately your kid's bb-gun. This commie needs to be seriously voted out of office.

While I virtually slept through several course of Constitutional history, along with many polysci & US hist, I have never understood that ANY weapon is prohibited by the Constitution. By what power & right of the gov might my choice of weapons be denied? Guess they can have any of them they are brave enough to take-but they get the expended ammo first.

I have no problem with banning the export of these guns, just as long as law-abiding Americans can still purchase them. Agree. You'll notice my letter asks only that law abiding citizens be allowed to purchase them.

No offense meant, but rather than shooting your mouth off, I would certainly prefer that you shoot a letter or two off instead....:))

Top Five Reasons why Waxman's Proposal is BS (in reverse order):
5. Everyone knows Waxman is an idiot anyway.
4. Banning 50-caliber rifles will not keep them out of the hands of terrorists, it will only take them from law-abiding citizens. Terrorists will simply buy them from arms dealers overseas.
3. A 50-caliber rifle would only put a large dent in the limousines used by Bush, Cheyney, Ashcroft and other top US officials. Waxman's comments about attacking government limo's are highly deceptive.
2. His proposal blames inanimate tools of man for the criminal acts of men. By the same logic we would also ban knives, baseball bats, golf clubs, industrial explosives, cars, and trucks. (Just for the record, even with the WTC attack, far more people have been killed by drunk drivers in the last 20 years than by terrorists). Did anyone hear one person suggest that we ban knives after the Simpson trial?
1. If an American city is attacked by terrorists using military weapons such as grenade launchers, lighty artillery, etc, we will need citizens armed with military-type weapons such as 50-caliber sniper riles to stop such an attack. We can't place the entire burden of defense on local police. Local police could end up outgunned and outmanned in a coordinated terrorist attack. Then they would need US citizens to provide additional firepower.
Ban Waxman from the US Congress instead!

WHAT DOMESTIC TERRORISTS? I have no idea who he's talking about. He must be referring to radical left-wing terrorists who were numerous and active during the Vietnam War. There have been far fewer right-wing terrorist incidents than radical left-wing incidents, but the right wingers (McVeigh) were a lot more effective. Frankly, I can't imagine anyone but a lefty thinking a 50 Caliber rifle would make an effective terror weapon...

I think every one of your comments is excellent --- and entirely wasted on me. WRITE TO RIDGE AND POWELL!!! :))

Let us not forget this statement of Waxa$$
"If someone is so fearful that they are going to start using their weapons to protect their rights,
it makes me very nervous that these people have weapons at all."

Thanks-Indeed,I clog the ether daily. I am sure to be on a 'delete list' at most every gov contact. I also presume many posts here are cataloged by those who watch. In fact I have found the occasion to send an entire thread to some of our be-knighted leaders ( its easy if you put their email adresses on your contact list ).
To: TEXICAN II
Didn't know about that "email the entire thread" bit; sounds like a great idea! Thanks!

Doesn't that one just frost your b&%$$s, though! An absolute rejection of the Constitution!
Knowing he's said that is why I emphasize the right I'm most interested in protecting is my right to life. Put that way to him, I don't think he can safely use tht quote (because there are all sorts of people who actually think Constitutional rights can be compromized, but I've never met anyone who says we don't have a right to defend ourselves from attack).
Waxman is such an elitist scumbag!
