Correction: One person My Biochem professor just got a major grant for genetic research, I think he said ten million? But he didn't look HAPPY about it, just stressed.

Ok, this in no way compares with a major grant, but my twins just made a 100% on their first spelling test in first grade AND came home to tell me they helped America by saying the Pledge of Allegiance today. They also think President Bush is handsome for a grandpa looking kind of guy! LOL I am raising some fine Republican gals!

OK, I've got something for you:
At the age of 47, my dad had a heart attack. The doctors told him he had five years to live, at best.
This year, my dad celebrated his 71st birthday. And, during the past 24 years, he's had three different doctors -- and, each one has died of some medical disease.
But, my dad is doing fine. The doctors died. But, the patient with five years to live is still doing great, twenty-four years later. How's that?

" But he didn't look HAPPY about it, just stressed."
It is like when I win a big IT project. Great to have sold it, but, crap, now I have to deliver it! ah, the stress of success.

Well, thank you so much for asking! My nephew, who will be 10 in a couple of months, has struggled mightily with reading. He has Central Auditory Processing Disorder (like Dyslexia for the ears), and has had private tutoring with special programs geared to his disorder. Getting him to read anything has been like pulling teeth. His cub scout troup went to the library last night & he got a Captain Underpants book. He read it in the car on the way home, he read it at the kitchen table after that, he read it before going to sleep, he read it the next morning, and last I heard, he was on page 89! It is some of the most wonderful news I could receive! I am so happy for him and for his future!

My 13 year-old son just changed his mind(probably won't the last time) from want to go to Law School to either West Point or TAMU and majoring in Military History. IMHO, anything is better than being a lawyer even being an aggie is better.

Um, was just given a PILE of quite valuable (well, they sure oughta be.........and already are looking that way) stock options by/in my VERY large employer, unheard of this time of year and absolutely unheard of as a relatively new employee. Totally out-of-the-blue. Kinda cool. :) We gotta celebrate the little victories in life as we lament the tragedies around us.
