Linton Hall on the campus of Michigan State University has gone into "full lockdown" since a package containing a white powder was found in the mail room at about 2:00 p.m. this afternoon.
Employees in the building were stripped and sprayed down with a diluted bleach solution, then sent to a local hospital.
A captain of the university's Department of Police and Public Safety told a News47 reporter that a representative of the University's Office of Radiation, Chemical and Bilogical Safety found evidence that indicated that the package may have been sent by "an animal rights group."
EVERYONE wants to get in on the act, especially because the FBI has tried to keep quiet that they believe (at least, I think they believe) Osama was behind the Anthrax. We don't know WHO has it, it could be anyone.

People who make hoax Anthrax attacks should be subjected to Anthrax, and left to die without anti-biotics. "No Cipro for you, eco-boy!"
Based on my personal experience dealing with law enforcement officers of many different agencies, they are not prone to humor in times like this and any hoax anthrax scares by animal rights activists or anybody will be dealt with in a very serious manner.

EAST LANSING - Twelve people are being sent to a local hospital for testing today after an MSU employee opened an envelope containing a powdery substance at Linton Hall on campus. Police say contents of the letter suggest it was sent by an animal rights activist group.
Most employees from the office building were evacuated and Ingham County's hazardous materials response team is on the scene - along with the FBI -- to investigate.
Twelve people who were in the vicinity of the letter were being decontaminated inside the West Circle Drive building and given clean clothes before being transported to a hospital for testing, MSU police Capt. David Trexler said.
The envelope was delivered to Linton Hall's first-floor mailroom. It isn't clear what the powder is.
Of course it would. After all, the attention on human suffering has drawn attention away from the "plight" of the true victims in our midst: animals.
What a bunch of nuts.
Members of the MSU Community: This afternoon an envelope was received in Linton Hall addressed to the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies. It contained a message referencing animal rights.
The police have announced that there is credible evidence that links the message to an animal rights organization.
In view of current world events, we have heightened security on campus, and we are taking special care in investigating this incident.
As part of these procedures, the Department of Public Safety and the MSU Hazardous Substance Response Team are reviewing this and have secured the area. Those who may have come in contact with the envelope are being evaluated. We have every reason to believe that the situation is contained. We will keep you updated as we receive additional information.
