I agree that the Republican Party has problems and I spent twenty years voting Libertarian and working for the Libertarian Party. I finally realized that the only chance I had to make any difference in the way our Country is run was to work with in one or the other of the major parties. Become active in the party be a delegate propose planks to the party platform. You can start to make a difference.

Just look at the US Senate which the Libertarians handed to the Socialist Demoncrats. Well then, the Republicans will just have to change their policies to attract more Libertarian votes. I'm certainly not going to reward them for their behavior to date by giving them my vote.

Rallying for gun control? LOL. Maybe you missed post #11.
And I concede your point about Redpath. He isn't our favorite guy, but he's most definitely the exception to the rule. In our defense, the LP membership has gone crazy over his 2A position, and he's been on the defensive since he made his outrageous comments. I've looked into it, and I don't think the Virginia LP convention was aware of his 2A views when they gave him the LP nomination for governor, and I'll be very surprised if he receives it again now that Virginia LP members are acutely aware of it.

You can't reason with Libertarians because they're a cult. I would not vote for them because of their constant lying (Republican = Democrat), which to those who keep up with current events, is preposterous. On top of allowing Democrats into office by dishonestly draining votes from GOP candidates, they hold positions that knowledgeable Christians could never support (legalization of drugs, pro-abortion, etc). So, for a conservative Republican, who is also a Christian, a vote for a Libertarian is sacrilege. Never will I vote for a Libertarian. If the Republican party were to ever to collapse, that would be the end of the USA anyway, since all that would be left are the ultra-leftist Democrats and their carbon-copies, the Libertarians........

I'm certainly not going to reward them for their behavior to date by giving them my vote. The question is not whether to reward any party or whether they have earned your vote. The question is how and where can you make a difference. Wasting your time in the Libertarian Party or working to make a difference in a real political party. I spent too much time with Libertarians, even running for City Council as one once. It accomplished nothing; I have had more effect on our government in one Election Cycle as a Republican than I ever did as a Libertarian.

Republicans and Democrats are nothing more than two shades of liberal. They're both controlled by big money special interests who buy influence out in the open for everyone to see. Their interests lie in being re-elected and holding on to power, not in serving the citizens of the U.S. I believe a viable third party could truly "sew the wind" for major changes in the way we do things. Is it the Libertarian Party? Who knows? Any viable third party would certainly have to adopt some of the platforms of the Libertarians. A platform with a moderate mixture of Libertarian/Rebublican/anarcho-capitalist ideas seems like a good place to start. Any ideas?

Been there, done that, didn't work.

The GOP began as a third party. Baloney. The GOP was a major party instantaneously. It emerged from the collapsed Whig Party, the members of the Free-Soil Party, and anti-slavery (former) Democrats. I reavlize you are trying to hide the facts to make a point that doesn't exist, but you won't get away with it.

All parties must start somewhere.
That the nascient Republic party required a vacuum in the two-party monopoly for success
is evidence of the inherent problems in the system.

...Ron Paul? I've heard some GOSSIP. Could be mistaken...

Enjoy.

So we should just keep voting for the socialists then?? Let's put it this way. The Constitutional Party is more in line with my views than the GOP. But I have a much better position trying to elect GOP candidates that reflect my views than Constitutional candidates.

Just remember - every vote wasted on the GOP could be a vote for the Constitution Party. ;^)
Vote your conscience, friend. You'll sleep better. The GOP will wither on the vine. People of
real principle will fill the void.

LOL.

legalization of drugs, pro-abortion, etc).
Hey Malcolm, wipe the spittle off your face, would you? I'm a knowledgeable Christian, and I'm for the legalization of drugs. I'm against abortion, but the official plank of the LP says it's not a federal issue at all -- it's a state call.

Which party rigged the Impeachment Trial to ensure that there could not and would not be a conviction?
Why fear what Libertarians might do when we can see what Republicans have done.

LOL. You are hilarious. One piece of propaganda gets exposed, so you move on to to another. Are you using a handbook or does it just come naturally?

If the Republican party were to ever to collapse, that would be the end of the USA anyway,...LOL! So much for your Christian faith and putting God first.
Today's Republicans are often to the left of 1960's Democrats. But, it's your choice.
