The first inclination is to roundly criticize this individual and others like him who refused to listen for so many years. However, that is the WRONG approach to take. And, it is for this reason that I posted it. A HUGE NUMBER of Americans have changed their minds about gun control. We need to WELCOME THEM TO THE FOLD.

Ordinary citizens who have come to see the light must be praised and encouraged to influence others to throw off the ridiculous and unconstitutional view that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are a threat to society.

On the other hand, a vigorous campaign to permanently remove legislators like Shelia Jackson Lee and Charles Schumer (and others) from the political scene must commence!!! NRA, wake up!!! Get these people on TV ads telling everyone they've been duped and left vulnerable by the liberal left and name names. It's now or never...

Its amazing what happens when you think an issue through instead of blindly adopting a liberal emotional response to a problem. What he figured out is what 2nd amendment supporters have been saying for years.

Never ceases to amaze me...those few old men (Founding Fathers)
in the late 1700's always seem to have provided
for events to come even centuries later.
In their writing of the Constitution and Bill of Rights,
they even tried to protect us from ourselves at later times.
They were prophetic and had a better understanding
of human nature and the world (in general) than we
realize sometimes.
Maybe God gave them their time for just that purpose
as HE gave us George W. Bush for this time.

I once worked with a physician (Internal Medicine) who received some threatening phone calls on his life. Not knowing who it was, from that day forward he kept a loaded revolver in his desk drawer. He was a no nonsense doctor. I for one felt safer.

"We need to WELCOME THEM TO THE FOLD"

Welcome, fine. But I, for one, will not soon forget that these people worked HARD to take away one of my unalienable rights.

Yes, I know. But, it's like a repenting sinner at church. Are you going to stomp the person, or help them make a permanent change? It's the same principle. Don't attack them and drive them back into sin. Welcome them and encourage them and help them to save others. Exact same principle.

Also, enlist their help in rooting out the kingpins of the opposition who've been spreading the lies and deceit and marginalize them. The right tatics lead to total victory. Press on. Eagles up.

And, if someone remains anti-gun, make sure they don't have any, especially these days. Very few unbelievers will be left.

;-)

The West's strength, whether you believe in G_d or not, is based on self suficiency. We do not rely on mobsters, like welfare recipients, for protection, we organise our protection. The first step to organisation is individual initiative. Owning a gun goes a long way toward this goal.

Cesar's face is not inscribed on guns. Like food growing off the ground, self defense is a blessing. Avoiding the horrors of collateral damage by using our children and other people as shields against evil should be the priority of all, the gun allows that to happen, because we fight instead of using collateral damage for protection.

It is time people took care of their personal health, it is time people took care of their personal defense. Dialing 911 is always too late. Self reliance is not reliance on police and mobsters for protection - nor is it rejecting manly contracts with police - it is not pathetic helpless welfare mentality, self reliance and gun ownership are the only hope for our children to see a future in full confidence, without racketeering dependency.

The CIA has been guilty of relying on Arab nations for intelligence information instead of going in the field itself. THe CIA has been helpless and pathetic relying on mobsters to buy information and protection for the US from Arab governments. The resutl was the WTC attack.

Remember the WTC! should be the motto for those not only fighting terrorism, but for those fighting the horrors of pacifist collateral damage, fighting for self sufficiency and independence.

Remember the WTC!

Mene....

Mr. Helm might also climb down off his ego ladder. My God what arrogance. First he uses his self assumed professional "status" to preach to the unwashed about the evils of guns and then when he feels threatened, he has the temerity to prescribe gun ownership to only the "chosen" few that he can suffer. What an ass. Once again he has proven that well educated does not mean intelligent.

You may be right, but to attack him and others like him is self-defeating. We need their help to squash this movement once and for all.

Niether will I.

Personally I have seen a large interest in "guns" especially from people I never expected it from- even weeks before the attacks. I have invited the recently awakened to join me at the range for a one on one in the use of guns.

It warms my heart when someone comes up to me asking, 'what kind of gun should I get?'

I'm sure he practices principled medicine since the Hippocratic Oath establishes the principles.

I wonder what sort of rhetoric he practices that he can reverse himself so? What are principles? Does he hug the First Amendment close and shy from the Second? How do we so easily regard the Pledge of Allegiance as a "hypocritic oath"?

Teachers, business people, andyes, physicians with weapons

HERE is the problem I have with what he wrote. Appraently he is only comfortable with white collar people he considers to be his social equal carrying a gun. What about a busboy, waitress, janitor, housewife, truck driver, etc, etc, etc? I can practically guarantee if you asked him this his knee would automatically jerk.

BTW,what the hell is a "andyes"?

At least he's being honest about it.

Lots of docs (especially abortionists) I'll bet have carried weapons for years, all the while preaching anti-gun rhetoric.
