That was my take on it too. He is a chicken and doesn't want to get his hands dirty. I have a 12 year old son. I would hate to have him go to war, but that is part of being a mother. Being an American means that you sometimes have to fight for what you believe in. That means sending our men off to war. Lord, the thought makes me sick.
