Senators Predict Iraq, Iran Will Be Next

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle and Sen. John McCain predicted Tuesday that America's war on terrorism will soon target other states beyond Afghanistan that have sponsored terrorist acts in the past.

"I don't think we can avoid that," Daschle told CBS News. "If indeed we are going after a worldwide network, we have to treat this issue and this challenge in a worldwide way."

McCain concurred, saying, "I think you'll see an expansion." Possible targets include Iraq, Iran, Syria and the Sudan, he explained.

"All of those countries are well-known to have not only sponsored terrorism but to have supported organizations that have already inflicted death and damage to American people and assets."

Daschle and McCain offered their predictions after the Bush administration warned Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein against trying to assist Afghanistan's Taliban government.

"There will be a military strike against you, and you will be defeated," U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Negroponte reportedly told Iraqi envoy Mohammed Douri on Monday.

Baghdad gave the U.S assurances it had no plans to aid the Taliban, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Didnt Bush tell these idiots to shut their mouths?

Oh and I seriously doubt that we will hit both Iran AND Iraq because we wuldnt want those dumbasses to combine forces and vent their hatred for each other against us. No doubt we could wipe the floor with BOTH of them at the same time, but the while region wouldnt go along with that.

I don't think he said Iran either. This type of stupid talk by our so called leaders could unite the Arab world against us. Bush needs to fight this war and make these calls on his terms, not on some Senators' call. Hey Senator, loose lips sink ships.

"They're dead, Usama, all of them. Tessio, Arafat, the heads of the five families. Today we settle all the family business. Everything. So don't sit there and tell me you're innocent. Don't insult me. I know it was you at the World Trade Center. Here's an envelope with a ticket to hell. There's a car waiting for you outside."

Thanks for this post, I loved this comment:

That is the only way to have diplomacy with mega rich Arab Terrorists like Saddem. He is a craven coward!

Letting the enemy know where we will hit next used to be called treason.

Maybe they've finally started listening to what the administration is saying - for example, after Bill Kristol & the other McCainiacs were spewing over his editorial last week, saying that Iraq is a cancer and must be eradicated, Rumsfeld, in his first briefing after the attacks began Sunday, noted that the US believes that "terrorism is a cancer and must be removed in full" - a not so subtle way to tell these fools (McCainiacs) that "yes, we're going all the way". In fact, IMHO, I believe the US has had to tell the folks (Saudi's, Uzbeks, etc., whom Rumsfeld & Tony Blair went to meet the week before we started bombing) that, yes, indeed, this is no longer the Clinton / Gore administration here in the US and George W. Bush is a man who means what he says and says what he means and, to quote Dick Cheney, knows what the meaning of "is" is.

The "senators" need to shut their freakin' mouths and stop speculating and/or revealing confidential info that might endanger our troops.

It is not their GD job to speculate as to what the president may or may not do.

This BS has got to stop. We don't need any more face time grabbing a-holes warning the terrorists what we're going to do.

John McCain will literally tell everything he knows to get face time. And Tommy just wants to look relevant.

McCain is an insane hothead. If the US goes and attacks Iran, Syria, etc. some very nasty things will happen. Islamic revolutions will topple the governments of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan and many more. Make no mistake about it, if the US goes ona rampage against Iran, Iraq, etc. the governments of all the "moderate" muslim states will fall to Islamic revolutions. This has been bin Laden's plan all along. If this happens bin Laden will then cut the US oil supply, have nuclear weapons and will quickly move to kick out the US from the Middle East and invade Israel.

We will see if Iran or Syria are hit & the effective damage. Me thinks it's a cover in Afganistan for nothing more than oil.
