Wow Robby we are really on different pages..but let us look just at the one "necessity" that set us apart from Islam and other Pagan faiths
Yes Jesus was necessay, and no he had no choice. He had to come. The Father planned the means of salvation, the Son had to come,He had to be obedient to the will and plan of the Father.
God is always true,God does not lie,God said He would send a savior. The only one that could save fallen man was God himself.
God can not lie,He promised all thougout the OT that He would come and He did.
Jesus did not want to die.He was frightened. But He had no choice..yes Robby it was necessary to reconcile God to his creation there was no other way.
Mark 14 35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
Do you think the Father took pleasure in this?
Luke 38 And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
Robby this seems to be your question..If you can for one moment not understand that indeed the cross was necessary
It was the only way a Holy God could bring salvation and judgement on sinful man
This came to my mind as I was typing this, and so I will share it with you
Jesus had just told a parable to the crowd..the parables were not general teaching tools, they were like a secret code .They were the way Jesus reveiled the mysteries of the kingdom to His chosen followers and so Jesus speaks
Mark 9 And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
Robby to understand the necessity of the cross you have to go back and read the OT,read Isaiah.God promised,He put it in writting. He made a contract (covenant) with man.He is Faithful and true.Jesus had to die on the cross it was a necessity..
Robby, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.Acts 4:12
I have been thinking about the wierd path of posting you have been on and the Bible has something to say about what you are thinking:
But when He had turned about and looked on His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, "Get thee behind Me, Satan; for thou savorest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men."
