I have it on my computer. I must hurry, they will flood the post here in a minute with goofy pictures, ect...
You need to find a place to host the picture on some site. www.photopoint.com was one place, or your internet provider may give you space to host the picture. Then you load the picture up on the site and get the address it is loaded. Then you put something like this up < img SRC="URL OF THE IMAGE" width=50 height=25 > . The width and height is varible. I like around 400 to 500 size. You put your URL of the place you hold your picture on the web where "URL of the Image" is. Hope this helps.

I know, I know. Sorry, sorry. I should be too old for this. Neither was I raised to post things like this, but somehow I couldn't resist.

How do you send an e-mail picture, so I can post it here?

I read previous posts on this subject and I still don't know how to post a picture. What we need is a FreeRepublic workshop or something like that where we can get hands-on training. I went to Costco & got my photos put on CD and I still can't figure it out! (Maybe I'm lame.) I have great photos of our United Way freeps in Sacramento (because they hate the Boy Scouts) and all these great photos just SIT THERE mocking me. Ack!! For victory & freedom!!!

Here is a sample -- first one I have ever tried.
Digital Camera
I used the very good directions given by Deep_6 in Post #15. Thanks, Deep_6!

I went to Costco & got my photos put on CD and I still can't figure it out! Pictures on cd or on your computer does not help. YOU HAVE TO LOAD THEM ON THE INTERNET SO THEY CAN BE LINKED WITH SIMPLE HTML CODE SO THAT THIS SITE PULLS THEM UP". If the pictures are on your computer, each time someone wanted to look at a thread that had your picture, they would have to access your computer. You don't want that, so you load them to a site that hold the pictures so FR can link the photo to show up here. Hope that helps. Read my previous posts.

Fair enough, apologies.

Fair enough, apologies. Accepted, thank you. I have no problem if you put the link to such pictures up and then post the link with an warning like "graphic picture, mature content warning". That way my wife and me knows not to click it. With that sorta forewarning, we got nobody but ourselves to blame if we do see it. There is the workaround for ya. She (wife) walked through the room awhile ago and immediately asked me why I was viewing something like that. I was fast to point out that I did not approve of it and had my post to prove it.

I tried to check the picture you were referring to in the web site that you gave. I left out the quotation marks and got to the site but was told I was not authorized to enter the site. When I posted my picture of the digital camera, I checked the post several times ( by clicking on "Preview" several times -- had to make several changes before I got it right and saw the picture come up. I used Deep_6's instructions. You might check his instructions again and repeat your test picture posting. Good luck -- gotta go for now.

OK, thanks, I will remember that. And if your wife requires independent corroboration of your explanation, just ask me. (Kidding)

I think we should air-drop some pants for those guys. Im tired of seeing them wearing dresses. lol.
Actually, I was wondering about these "dresses" and turbans and such. In the West, normal folk wear suits that cost a couple of hundred dollars and politicians wear suits that cost a couple of thousand dollars. Whenever we see the Taliban leaders, or bin Laden, they seem to be wearing the same kind of "dresses" and turbans as the normal Arab folk -- I was wondering if those clothes _are_ the same, or if there are special, Brooks Brothers turbans and "dresses" that the leaders wear...

First off, no matter what anybody else claims, thumbtacks are
not how one posts a pic.
That out of the way, let's move on...
Before you can post it, the pic has to be someplace where others can access it. Your hard drive isn't such a place. Often as not, pics that don't show on a thread were attempts to link to a pic on a hard drive. Assuming that the pic is on a server, the format is...
<img src="http://www.whatevertheserveriscalled.com/filename.whatever">
A quick way to get the right URL (in Internet Explorer) is to right-click on the picture and select "Properties" from the pull-down menu. Click three times on the filename to highlight it then press Ctrl-C on your keyboard to copy it to the clipboard. Then when you're composing your post, use Ctrl-V to insert it into the <img> tag.
