Musharraf Nominated for Nobel Peace Award Updated on 2001-10-09 12:54:11
ISLAMABAD, October 09 (PNS): President General Pervez Musharraf has been nominated for the Noble award for Peace by International Committee of International Human Rights Observer (IHRO) based in Pakistan, UK, and the US.
IHRO has suggested to the Norwegian Noble Committee for Peace Award 2001 to accept the nomination of Musharraf as he has done enormous service to the humanity following terror attacks in World Trade Center (WTO) and Pentagon.
The reasons for his nominations are his sincere efforts to bring peace in Sub Continent and US, UK, and United Nations appreciated his role to promote the peace in the region, the committee said.
He was the first man to condemn the terror attacks against America and extended all his support to the US to combat this heinous crime of terrorism, it said.
He worked hard to prevent war in this region and played a vital role between Taliban and US to stop the tension here. The whole world community admitted the efforts of the General Musharraf, IHRO said.
We should reward people for cooperating with us, but giving peace prizes to butchers is not good policy.
