Erm...not quite sure if that was the 1965 act or not. What the 1965 act did was change the structure of "from where/how many" immigrants to accept. It added the provision that let people immigrate here based on familial relations. Immigrants from Muslim and other third world countries have used this provision to the maximum....moving the entire extended family here.

The familial relations provision of the 1965 Act should be struck down immediately.

And yes, it was one of the Kennedys I believe.

A few days after the initial attack, I predicted that it wouldn't be long before people were calling for detention of "profiled" populations. I caught an unbelievable amount of flack, was called, if not every name in the book, some of 'em, and told that this could never be allowed to happen in the USA.

My standard response was that not only could it happen, but after a few more attacks, it was inevitable that people would be demanding that it happen.

What folks are discussing in this thread is the leading edge -- the tip of the iceberg -- and after some more serious attacks hit, there'll be no stopping the call for action.

My only hope at this point is that whatever is done will be suffiently restrained to allow "the rest of us" to have some semblance of liberty. We're treading on risky ground, and the saddest part of all is that the enemy is driving us onto it. We have no choice other than to not "go there", and pay the consequences. Talk about a lesser of two evils situation...

You ain't gonna see citizens being deported,period. You can forget that,although it wouldn't surprise me to see visas withdrawn and non-citizens told to leave.

The thing is any citizen who looks "swarthy" or "Arabic" and has a accent may well be putting his life at risk if he/she stays here. 99% of US citizens have never been threatened in any way in their whole lives,and people are going to start to freak-out if this continues. People are already starting to panic.
