We have made some technological changes, because people have been complaining about the lower octave, so I think we've made some minor changes to raise the pitch of the voice electronically today as were trying to figure out what's going on but as far as I'm concerned there's no change

Before I read about all this, I heard Rush today for about 10 or 15 minutes (I remember thinking I was happy to hear HIM for a change...) and I could tell something "Electronic" was happening...

I distinctincly remember thinking that his show was tape delayed and they were speeding it up or something. It reminded me of a gimmick Letterman did years ago....He taped a 1 hour and 10 minute show, sped it up and gave us a "70 Minutes of Entertainment in a 60 Minute Show." It was pretty cool.

Anyway....He definately sounded high pitched...And I noticed it with no fore warning. But I didn't have any idea it was something like this...

This sucks!

Does anyone remember the date Rush's contract signing was announced? Was it July?

hmm sounds like Rush needs some healing prayers---if god can take away his hearing, he can restore it just as fast. And one thing that Freepers are good at is prayer!! Let's pray for Rush like we would if it was one of our own freepers or freeper's spouses, children, brother--on and on!! the power of prayer is not to be MISUNDERESTIMATED!

I thought the Limbaugh family were Methodists?

Rush started this whole conservative movement. he put the republican in charge in 1994.

Rush is the man. He is in a class with the Founding Fathers now. Rush has done great things for freedom and America.

I disagree. I have only listened to Rush since '92 (when I had to, to win a bet I had with my mom - BTW, I lost, and the bet revolved around my misconceptions of the show and how they would be changed if I actually listened as opposed to only taking press accounts as valid. Dang it all if Mom wasn't right.)

I believe that Rush is a devoted Christian, but I also believe that he chooses not to make religion, or religious issues, the focus of his show.

"if god can take away his hearing"

I don't mean to start something, but GOD does not take peoples hearing from them. GOD is a good GOD and he heals those He loves. In fact, he sent Jesus, 2000 years ago to purchase our healing for us. If you have received Jesus as your Savior, you are entitled to the covenant of healing. It's yours already, all you have to do is "believe you receive it and you will have it"! It's called faith!

I was thinking about frogman and all the wonderful song parodies. Rush is the funniest mimic on radio. Is this ever sad.

That's a great point about voice imitation. Now I can look back and understand why we haven't heard many imitations for months. I vaguely recall him imitating Clinton saying "we missed him (Bin Laden) by just an hour," but that's about it. He could probably imitate Clinton even if stone-deaf.

But we haven't heard many (or any) others; now we know why. What a loss--d**n. This will be an evolving problem with the potential to affect show quality. I trust he will come up with other ways to compensate, even if he has no idea what they are now.

I saw something about this while clicking past CNN on the TV dial. They are showing video clips of pre-weight-loss Rush that have to be at least 6 or 7 years old.
I'm not surprised but I am P.O.'d.

Maybe Russel is right about Rush not being a Christian. Did anyone hear the comment he made today about "his Rabbi"? Maybe Rush is Jewish.

While I would welcome Rush into our fold, I'm sure he'd be quite surprised to learn of his conversion. His family was Methodist, but he has to my knowledge never divulged his denominational affiliation.

Well - a "devoted Christian" might have at one time mentioned the name of Jesus Christ in his myriad hours of broadcast excellence.

Did I miss something?

Or is he ashamed of the Name?

Umm, and what happens when you "believe it", but don't "receive it"? Just curious.

Have you listened to every one of those "myriad hours"? How do you know that he hasn't mentioned Jesus?

Furthermore, you believe that God and Jesus are one and the same, correct? So as a Christian, when Rush says "God", he means the trinity. So isn't the mention at the very least implied?
