Sunshine, are you implying that UW plays ABSOLUTELY no part in pressure donation tactics (ie the 100% goal deal)? Get rid of the middle person (was that PC or not).

That is exactly what I'm saying. They are cheerleaders. The campaigns are directed and run by each company. United Way has no say in how that is accomplished.

Please see my response to the two posts just before yours. I have not personally been touched by the United Way. However my father died of cancer. My little brother ran into some life choice problems and he had to use services provided by the Salvation Army and other UW funded agencies. My elderly parents-in-law use UW services such as transportation, and library services that are funded by United Way. Perhaps you know someone who has benefited from the contributions we make to UW. It is a fine organization unless you happen to live in an area with a politically correct UW board. The I will agree with all the ugly statements made about UW
