I'm not sure of your point. There have been plenty of legitimate inquiries into Rush's health over the past months. I'm sure NOBODY would have the slightest problem telling the difference between the two.
I bet all the vile people who have been bitching incessantly about his "voice change", or how many vacation days he's been taking recently feel pretty good about themselves right about now.
Let me re-phrase my response. How do you suppose the "vile people" who derided those concerned about Rush's voice, by telling them they were hearing things and were seminar-posters and so forth, are feeling? Are they feeling pretty good about themselves? (I remind you as well that Rush himself mocked such people, told them they had to have their radio's checked, have their "disgronificators" replaced, were nuts-o.)
Me, I'm sorry to have been right. I'd said he sounded to me like an old man in some degree of pain, rather than the robust, fulsome voice that had caught my attention in '89. I knew I wasn't hearing things. I just thought it was a matter of diet, or maybe not maintaining his voice, or too many cigars, or something. Big fan of 12 years-and-counting that I am, I'm sorry as heck that he's lost his hearing. I hope God turns it for good for him.
