You didn't need to post that. We've always known there are Rush-haters.

Rush, hang in there, buddy. I remember as a young kid in Pittsburgh during the early 1970's, I remember you being here on KQV. I've been listening to you in your current show since 1989 when I was still in college and working at a rental truck place cleaning and servicing trucks and running cars/trucks to various locations. You were a constant companion to me then and even today. I know there are a few times I disagree with you, not much, but hey, we can't agree on everything. I hope you beat this and stay on ther air by reversing the hearing loss or finding a way around it. I know myself, I was kind of miffed when you were on vacation a lot recently, but I do understand why you had to be tight lipped until you found out the truth of what's going on and try to do something about it. At least tou're not looking for pity. I hope you stay on the air, you are a beacon of truth telling what's going on. I also like hosts like Chuck Harder, Mike Savage, and Art Bell, but you outshine them all by reaching more people at one time and we need you to hold us to the faith during these trying times from the fall of Communism, to the Gulf War, the 8 years of Hell we've had through Clinton, to Red China keeping our plane and crew, and finally the terrorist attacks and our response.

He sounds like his old self I think so too, he sounds so much better than his older commercials. It will be hard for him not too slide into laziness of speech, but he will perservere, this difficulty will not define him.

Monet's "Blue" period was due to his cataracts. Didn't Beethoven write some of his best work after he lost his hearing?

To some degree, you are right. However, both of these men suffered terribly after losing the senses they treasured so much. Monet's late works are for the most part just shades of brown, since he couldn't see while he was mixing the paint. Beethoven turned away from the piano in his late works, and composed mostly for string ensembles. He was a truly unhappy human (I have an MA on Beethoven, know WAY too much about the poor dear.)

I'm glad you mentioned Beethoven because his genius prevailed despite the affliction.

Everything that I've ever heard from Rush says that he's a fighter. He won't give up.

I expect he'll be so "in tune" with what he does over the air day after day that he'll prevail over this as well.

Do you think Limbaugh is now reconsidering his long-standing opposition to the Americans with Disabilities Act??

Nope. He'll make it on his merits, and even handicapped will outperform you personally by an order of magnitude of order of magnitudes.

He's the man. He was out there talking the talk and doing the right and unpopular thing way before it was real. I'll listen to him until he doesn't want to do it anymore.

God Bless Rush and America.

Your compassion is overwhelming. An unfortunate choice of terms, don't you think?

That explains the quacking-like tone of his voice...

I bet all the vile people who have been bitching incessantly about his "voice change", or how many vacation days he's been taking recently feel pretty good about themselves right about now.

How dare you. Our concern was that he was sick because his voice had changed so drastically. We had no way of knowing, you jerk!

He will probably end up learning to lip read and/or sign even.

The cochlear implant, if Rush decides on it, will allow Rush to do very well indeed with lip reading. He is an intelligent man and a quick learner when motivated. There is no way he will be out of the conversational loop for long.

"It will be hard for him not too slide into laziness of speech, but he will perservere, this difficulty will not define him."

Words of wisdom for us all. Any difference will be as inconsequential as any other adjustments we people all have to make for changes in their lives.

I will not make note of the differences, but I will rejoice in this man's great wisdom. A National Treasure of Wisdom.

I heard about this from the afternoon talk host, John Carlson. Last year I had a chance to see Rush at the GOP picnic, he came out to support John, when he was running for Governor of Washington. It was a great time even though Carlson eventually lost the election. The fact that Rush did this showed the class of the man. I had some disagreements with him, but I stilled enjoy the show! His updates(Homeless, Gay rights, condom) are classics! Hope for the best and Thank you Rush!

I've lost about 80% of my hearing over the years. It's been a gradual deterioration rather than sudden. I've tried hearing aids, which were no use. Losing one's hearing is bothersome, to be sure, but if I had to choose between losing my hearing and losing my sight...

"Go away. Far away."

You have your opinions, I have mine. I liked Rush when he was a real conservative, not a nanny-nation pseudo-conservative like the majority are today.

Savage predicted this stuff five years ago. And get ready for more, because we have no border enforcement to speak of because of Rush's propaganda (and many others).

BTW, I voted for Bush, too.
