. Throat cancer maybe? It could be nodules on the vocal cords, lets all pray that its no more serious than that.

I wonder if he could have had some kind of vocal fold hypertrophy and underwent laser ablation therapy. If so, then less tissue in the vocal folds after the surgery would result in faster vibration and a higher pitch. The opposite is why your voice drops in pitch when the vocal folds become swollen or edematous during a cold or other illness.

Announcement at beginning of next hour. Going to the bathroom while I have time!

His voice is definitely different. Sometimes it sounds like him and sometimes not. Re soul searching, maybe he has throat cancer or something? A lot of people who sing or talk for a living develop that. I wish he would just come right out and say whatever it is, rather than beating around the bush and playing coy about it.

Went to break and no mention of what happened last week. Now we're on to a caller, won't know until the next hour.
Rush says that during the next hour he'll say what was up.

Now he says he will lead off the next hour (2nd hour) with an explanation of last week's absence.

Thanks for the explanation on Garry's voice - I thought it was a new person also named Gary. He went through that contract thing a year or so ago.
Ha ha ha.

Gosh I miss those guys. Their show is one of the things I miss about WLS. Now if they would just go back to the web broadcast.

Actually I'm listing to Rush via the Internet and Rush does sound different. His voice sounds slurred as if he has been giving novocaine or something

I bet hacklers are having a HAYDAY distorting his voice. Are hacklers a cross between hecklers and hackers?

I hope he's not sick. I like him. No, I don't always agree with everything he says but I enjoy his show, golf, football and all. And besides, I found FreeRepublic because of Rush.

"But I have a practical question...are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tonite?" 11 pts. for even obscurer Spinal Tap reference!
