Listening to Rush today, his voice sounds in a little higher register than in previous weeks and months. Anyone else notice?

Just in: on the 29th of May couldn't hear a thing in his left ear. Maybe a hearing loss problem?

Osama's mama gots mud flaps.

They've discovered that Osama choked on vomit. Not really sure if it was his own vomit.

Spontaneous combustion!!!

Wait, he says that he's practically deaf, but he's been answering callers like before. What gives?

It would be like the Backstreet Boys being unable to grow sideburns.

Rush is completely deaf in one ear, and the other ear he barely hears.

Oh God, he has loss in the right ear as well. He can't hear music, he can't hear TV, can't hear conversations...

His hearing loss has been very rapid since the end of May.

Oh no, Rush is deaf in the left ear and legally deaf. This is terrible news. I'll pray for him and his family. I hope he can hang in there.

Here we go - hearing loss in his left ear. Totally deaf in the left ear. Can hear sound but not identify sounds in his right ear. Cannot hear radio, television, music. Is wearing hearing aids to communicate with people.

If this pattern continues, he will be entirely deaf in a month or so.

Here's his explanation:

On May 29th I noticed that I could not hear anything in my left ear, docs thought it was genetic.

Up until 10 days ago, I lost hearing successively -- I'm now totally deaf in my left ear. I can recognize sound but not identify it in my right ear. I can't hear radio, television, or music, but can converse with people if their voice is the right frequency. Every effort has been made to stabilize the loss with the hope of restoring it.

For a couple of months, hearing aids could handle the loss, but now they can't be powerful enough, starting about 10 days ago. The odds are within another month or so I will be 100% deaf. (to be continued)

No wonder his voice sounds different. He just claimed he is almost 100% deaf.

He will be completely deaf in a few months. He took his calls today without hearing a word. Someone must be writing down the caller's thoughts. PLEASE STAY, RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!! STAY!!!!!!!

That explains alot!

I bet they have been changing the pitch to try and compensate for the loss! And now he can't hear himself so he probably is unconciously changing his voice to try and hear it!

Wow that is a tough break!
