Pro-Bin Laden riots in Gaza turn violent Special to World Tribune.com MIDDLE EAST NEWSLINE Monday, October 8, 2001 GAZA — The Palestinian Authority has been rocked by bloody student demonstrations in support of Saudi fugitive Osama Bin Laden. Demonstrations in support of Bin Laden were reported in many areas of the Gaza Strip on Monday. Two people were killed during attempts by PA police to disperse the demonstrators. The bloodiest protests came in Gaza City. Hundreds of university students, including armed members of the Islamic opposition, clashed with police. At least two civilians were killed and a dozen wounded. Police sources said Islamic gunmen opened fire on officers outside Al Azhar University and the Islamic University in Gaza City. Islamic sources countered that police opened fire when they failed to disperse the demonstrators with tear gas. PA authorities then ordered the closure of universities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Authorities also banned any television news coverage of pro-Bin Laden demonstrations. The PA has refused to adopt a position on the U.S.-led military offensive on Afghanistan. PA Information Minister Yasser Abbed Rabbo said officials first wanted to determine the position of the Arab League.

I find it curious that rioters, regardless of where they are have the intelligence of a rock. These people rioted in their own neighborhoods and fired on their own police. The closed their own universities and businesses. Does this sound like any other (domestic) riots in the not to distant past?

If the PA has to kill a few palestinians in order to keep those U.S. dollars coming into their coffers, well Arafat is not about to give up his little terrorist fiefdom and the U.S. funding by openly proclaiming what the PA is: Pro ben Laden!

ben Laden openly (in his released video) proclaimed his solidarity with the Palestinians! Oophs! This is a dilema for Arafat - he wants to keep playing Americans for suckers and keep his Swiss bank account flowing! What will he do? Lie, lie, lie! And the media will give him all the cover he needs to keep exploiting U.S. taxpayers!

They cheered when the WTC towers were destroyed and they riot when Bin Laden is attacked. Any doubt as to the "worth" of these people? And how many of them are in the USA right now. They and their "brothers"? And what attacks are they planning next? We should send them all home now.

These people suck. No, they aren't ready for their own state. See if the next generation might be fit for it. Definitely not this one.

Where is the UN? Don't they have a meeting and issue the obligatory condemnation every time a "Palestinian" is killed?

They have a state - given to them in the U.N. Trans-Jordan Treaty in the 40s! They don't want it - they want Israel! Why? To destroy Jews!

Now they have set their eyes upon America -- As the Islamic rhetoric states: "First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people!" They aren't throwing a party for Jews and Christians to prosper!

I too deplore this killing of two peaceful Palestinian demonstrators by the brutal occupation army of Yassir Arafat.

So, when are they going to riot over rock shortages (and what will they throw?)?

If Arafat doesn't stop spilling "innocent" "Palestinian" blood, Bin Ladin will attack the West.

The Israelis are lucky that these Islamic gunmen don't shoot at the Jews. We all know that they only throw stones at the Israelis.

PA Police kills 2 Palestinians at bin Laden rally Palestinian Police officers shot and killed two persons at a demonstration by students at the Islamic University in Gaza City in support of Osama bin Laden this afternoon, Israel Radio reported.

The two killed were described as a boy and a youth.

The Palestinian Police denied its officers had fired at the crowd of demonstrators, saying they had shot over their heads in an effort to disperse the crowd. The Palestinian Authority said the fatalities were caused by masked men who fired from inside the crowd.

More than 20 Palestinians were wounded in the incident, including policemen. The demonstrators also caused damage to offices of the PA Aviation Authority.

Hundreds of university students, including armed members of the Islamic opposition...

Oh, it those 'students' again. Apparantly there is no limit to the number of jihad majors. The gold seal on the diploma... what is that, a burning star of David and/or American flag?

Ah. Masked, were they? Sounds like PA police.

Doesn't Arafat hate Hamas and vise-versa? Arafat may actually be tring to cool things and Hamas wants to keep them stirred, although there is no indication that they were at play here, one gets the impression that Arafat has his hands full in trying to keep things quiet.

It is strange to see how not only do these people lie, they also believe every lie told to them. It makes the scripture clear about "they will continue to deceive and in turn be deceived".
