Very intriguing theory. I was thinking along the same lines but I'm not sure why a photo editor would be doing the story, unless he was supposed to photograph the package/culture samples, etc. And if you're on the right track, where did the package come from? Who would they be in contact with who would and could provide anthrax?

What about the Boca Raton Airport, just across I-95 from the American Media offices? Less than 2 miles away.

Health officials last week described the case as an isolated one and not a biological attack. But the news set off fears of bio-terrorism, particularly because the suspected Sept. 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta rented planes four times in August at a flight school at Palm Beach County Park Airport, according to Marian Smith, owner of Palm Beach Flight Training. Stevens home is within a mile of the airport.

Thanks for the correction.

I'm at Military & Palmetto - in Paradise Palms.

Also, as a photo editor, he was probably on the road everyday all over Florida - shooting pics. Check his itinerary to find out where he has been.PHOTOGRAPHERS are on the road shooting pics. Photo EDITORS sit at a DESK and twiddle with computer graphics to edit for publication photos that the photographers BRING to them.

But in my opinion, more panic is caused by the distrust and subterfuge, than by forthright reporting of actual events. Only among those that pay attention and see the discrepancies. Most of the sheeple are willing to let the "free" press decide what is important.

I think the first thing the Florida State Board of Health needs to do is get a new spokesman. Tim O'Conner, hopefully, didn't get his degree in Public Relations. The State needs to release accurate and fact filled information. This guy is making, what should be pretty straight forward facts, a nightmare.

I don't know how many saw that special on the terrorist that Americas' Most Wanted did. When the FBI searched the apartments in S. Fla. the terrorist stayed in, they found a gas mask. AMW showed them taking it from the apartment. THAT got my attention and has held it since.

...where did the package come from? Who would they be in contact with who would and could provide anthrax? I was thinking about that, too, and I seem to remember some homegrown nuts that were busted with anthrax about....5, 6 years ago in Las Vegas? I can't remember how they got it, but they managed it somehow.

Bump for this one, and you are right. Legionnaires gets personal with me, was at the ARRL convention in the same hotel before the Legion was there, and got pretty worried when I came down with a cold.
This forum is worth more than it's weight in gold here because at least we are brainstorming with the information, not hiding it like the press.

I posted this earlier.. but here it is again... the Enquirer's lead story next week breaks the news of ObL's niece in New York, she was warned prior to Sept 11.. she left the USA quickly... leaving appointments etc.. her apartment was photographed... while some report that Bob Stevens was semi-retired.. he was obviously still working in an office... was he responsible for the photo selection? Clearly, if ObL wanted the American public concerned, this is a great way to do it... just think about all those tabloids where everyone can see them..frankly, I am not going to curtail my life for any crazy group of people, but I will be more careful and observant... I just wish the CIA/FBI were more observant and could strategically put the puzzle together as great as some folks on the web... we need to get our government on the ball... no matter what it takes... sometimes I wish old J.Edgar himself was around.. high heels and all...

"...as a photo editor, he was probably on the road everyday all over Florida - shooting pics. Check his itinerary to find out where he has been."But the article clearly states that they found the anthrax bacterium "in the building" where both worked.
So, do they have farm animals in that building, or is someone blowing smoke?

I read the Palm Beach Post and Sun Slantnel Sunday edition. Both newspapers, but especially the Post, treated its readers to a Soviet style propaganda campaign concerning the anthrax case. Both claimed it was just a natural case, etc... Even Governor Bush was qouted as saying "This is just a cruel coincidence". Give me a break. My family is here in Delray Beach. I demand, require, the truth from my elected officials. If they are not sure, they should keep there month shut. I thought we got rid of the corrupt, lying, Clinton administration. I voted for Governor Bush and support him, however, I deserve better and truthful information. Just connect the dots, folks.

Well hello, David......thanks for reading those things. I just can't do it anymore!

"remember some homegrown nuts that were busted with anthrax.."
Those were legitimate scientists NOT associated with the government who had gotten ahold of a DEAD strain (not illegal, but not easy to do)so that they could make an antidote. They did this because they thought that anthrax was a real teerorist threat which the government wasn't taking seriously (idiots).
They were immediately branded as nuts (just as you did), and were held without bail for months even though they weren't charged with a crime because nothing that they had done was against the law. They were finally let go when they promised that they would do no more work on anthrax.
I could be wrong on some of the details as I am going entirely on memory. But I am sure that this is the gist of that incident. It couldn't have been more than a couple of years ago.

Hi, Gene! To all my fellow Freepers:
Point #1: 15 of the 19 terrorist lived in Palm Beach County.
Point #2: A number of them inquired about crop-dusters and even rented regular planes on four different dates in August (August 17, 18, 20 and 22).
Point #3: If they inquired about crop-dusters, it is logical to conclude that they had the "stuff". After all, why inquire.
Point #4: If they were going to "check-out" on September 11, 2001 and they have the stuff, and are evil and diabolical, they probably would use it even if the distribuiton method is of low "effectiveness".
Point #5: The mathematical odds of two people getting anthrax "naturally" from the same area that the terrorist lived, like the Soviet style press in the South Florida area reported over the weekend, is astronamical (18 cases in 100 years, none in 25 years, 280,000,000 people in the country, millions of square miles af U.S. area). You would have a better case of winning the lottery in every state lottery on the same weekend simulataneously.
Point #6: The South Florida area, especially Boca Raton, has the second highest per capita Jewish population in the country. The first, New York City.
Connect the dots, Folks. God Bless and be safe.

It's tough to get a feel for possible motives in this one.staged, contrived, smoke & mirrors, i.d.'s, regulation, surveillance, publicity, circulation. I can't be knowin
it is fo real. is this simply what it seems or not what it seems? guess we'll have to see how they spin it.
