Prayer is good, and it works for me; unfortunately, I'm trying to live the BoyScout motto - Be Prepared. Man oh man, I'm trying to look cool but Mommy has to keep putting the searches into Google - "smallpox; preschooler; vaccine", "Dallas; Federal building; nearby schools" "on and on". I'm looking for the silver bullet that Donald Rumsfeld told me doesn't exist, but I'm Mommy - it's my children at stake and I just know I can be prepared if I just find the info...
I think I'm starting to become obsessive. I think this is what my Mother meant when she said being Mom means being responsible for everything that happens in the world.

people will freeze in northern winterswe don't need oil to heat our homes, just ignore the enviro whacos and use coal.

and the first to be thrown down into the dust would be little children and women . . That one line explains a lot about them.

"ok, ok, shine my shoe" No, no. That's not what you're supposed to say. You say, come here kid, I'm going to clean this shoe off on your arse. (Well, I'm improvising for WC Fields.)

My worst case scenario, I don't like to think about.
But average college biology students can follow xerox instructions and mass produce anthrax spores from samples in home made "glove boxes", and turn out twenty mason jar "bio bombs" a week, times as many "home labs" as they can set up.
A multiple mason jar attack on one subway system would kill in 5 figures, easliy. And more than one could be attacked at a time.

"ROME (AP) An SAS airliner collided into a building at Milan's Linate airport on Monday, apparently after being cut off on the runway by a smaller aircraft, and some people were killed as a fire broke out, Italian news reports said." Well, now we know why they tried to hijack that air-ambulance in New Mexico, eh?
By the way, interesting choice of airline names, considering who just beat the snot out of the talibastards.

Apartments in NYC and Philly and Boston are not set up to heat with coal.
Any way you slice it, an oil cutoff will lead to a deep shock in the West.

BTW, We should be on guard for those who would take advantage of a wave of violence in America. I'm reminded of the environuts who think our population should fall and would LOVE to be involved in spreading a disease. It's kind of like Rainbox Six but less apocalyptic.

On any day at LAX or JFK you can see concourses where a dozen loaded 747s are lined up wingtip to wingtip.

At worst there is a few thousand of them here(at worst, but not likely), while there are 280 million of us. Exactly. Don't forget that they aren't the smartest enemies we've had to face. The paper trail that the 9/11 terrorists left in their wake demonstrated that while they may be dedicated, they aren't sophisticated. Once marshalled, our resources can and will beat them.
To: dandelion
I hear ya, I've been sitting here all night debating as to whether mine are even GOING to school tomorrow...
To: Skywalk
Think of how simple it would have been to collect "hoof and mouth" germs from the UK last spring and summer, and bring them over here.
To: danzaroni
. . . they are the smartest, most sophisticated enemy we have ever faced, as you say . . . I repeat what you say, and perhaps agree because of one thing: flying monkeys . . . I remember the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz use to wear the same little beanie-cap a lot of them Baluchis, 'Ganis and other beggars are wearing in Peshawar . . . in fact, the little suit that the flying monkeys wore, and the cap, my God, you could put them flying monkeys right into the ranting crowds in Rant-a-stan and nobody would know otherwise . . . you know, when I was listenin' to Musharaf's talk, I SWEAR he said, ". . . in the midst of the suffering, I see that there will be food drops . . . and so, we see that in the suffering, supper will be served" . . . hmmmm . . . here's some suffering and supper, have a nice day . . .

You are watching the coverage of this are you not? Guess who is part of bringing it to you? Of course it should not change anything we do. I'm sure these journalists knew the risk going in but you don't need to be such a jerk about their apparent situation either.
To: GeronL
Well, God gave me a little poem - "You don't have look and you don't have to chase, all you have to do is be in your place". Soooo, I'm in my place - which is Christian Worship Center in San Diego. I'm waiting!

"On any day at LAX or JFK you can see concourses where a dozen loaded 747s are lined up wingtip to wingtip." I'd wager their target was Albuquerque. It's closer, and right next to the large civilian airport, there's Kirkland AF base, and the Manzano weapons storage, where much of our nuclear inventory is stored.
As to the event in Italy, I'm thinking they may have picked SAS to "send a message", since the British SAS is wiping up the gravel with their faces at the moment.

As for the Western journalists, um, can we send some Warthogs to Pakistan to kill these scumbag fanatics?
Will this do?
To: Skywalk
Its not a Warthog but it'll do the trick. I'm sick of seeing all these peace protestors all over the local news. Makes me want to gag.
