Ah Ha!! You have found the difficulty in putting your arms around just what a "Protestant" is. It is similar to just what "Sola Scriptura" is. I suppose all that is left for you is to set up the "straw man" and attack him.

A Protestant is any Christian who recognizes only the authority of the Bible, as interpreted by himself with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as binding on the conscience of the believer.

Youre definition of Protestant is wrong for the same reason the military stamped a "P" on my dogtags when I told them I had no church. Some of your friends have a lot of fun throwing numbers around concerning 28,000, or more, Protestant denominations. If youre definition was correct there would be only one Protestant denomination.

Frankly, I don't believe there is any single definition of "Protestant" which is satisfactory. It just can't be done.
